Overview of the Project
Bristol is synonymous with graffiti. It's everywhere you look! We want to explore what Street-art/Graffiti means to people living in Bristol. Gather together young peoples views, opinions and ideas about graffiti in Bristol into a zine or leaflet which presents Bristol through the lens of its Street Art. If you are interested in getting involved with the UNITY Street Art Project, whether it's to write something, take photos or just express your opinion, get in touch unitystreetjournalist@googlemail.com

Bristol has amazing graffiti + street art scene. We want to explore what Street-art and Graffiti means to people living in Bristol and explore young peoples perceptions of Bristol as a place to live or visit. Do young people feel ownership of Art in their communities? And how does Street-Art and Graffiti can give a voice and expression to diverse ideas, people and groups across Bristol?
We want to gather together opinions and ideas about graffiti in Bristol working towards producing a zine or leaflet about what young people think about street art in their area.
To get started we will be doing a bit of vox popping at the Stokes Croft Street Festival on Saturday 22nd May (this weekend!): http://stokescroftstreetfest.wordpress.com/
The Stokes Croft Street festival is a culmination of a week of activities celebrating the exciting and vibrant diversity and celebrating of the Stokes Croft Community. This is the first Stokes Croft Street festival and it will be interesting to see how all the community is involved. The programme is Jam-packed full of so many different activities and with an after-party programme in the evening as well, there is bound to be something for everyone!
